WARNING:be prepared for a long post 🙂
In case we are not friends on Facebook or one of the few people I talk to on the phone.
Last month we spent 7 nights on a Disney Cruise!
Tommy surprised Annabelle a few days before our trip with a chevron suit case that she had her eye on at Target. She knew we were going somewhere-but did not know where!
I only have wonderful things to say about our trip & if I had to use one word to describe it – AMAZING!
When we got the the cruise terminal, Captain Mickey & Cruise ship Minnie were waiting on us
Olaf was also there in a grass skirt
We have all been on several cruises but hands down this was the nicest ship, waitstaff, host, etc. we have ever encountered. The whole staff was super friendly & always helpful.
Here is our wait staff-Annabelle asked at least once a week what we think they are doing. They were a lot of fun & one night asked if they could borrow one of Annabelle’s bows
Every night for dinner we rotated between 3 different restaurants: Royal Court, Enchanted Garden & Animator’s Palate. Our wait staff followed us to each restaurant & some days with saw them at breakfast & lunch too.
Day 1: We left Port Canaveral, explored our boat, went to the Sail Away Party, saw the kids area (it was huge & so much fun-even for us grown up) had a family dance party and played shuffle board.
Day 2: At Sea We decorated our door (did you know Disney cruisers decorated doors?! thanks to Pinterest, I did & we were prepared!) We also hung our Fish Extender (more on that later). Played min golf, swam in the Mickey pool, went to a character dance party, meet lots of characters, saw the Aladdin show(it did not disappoint-& was a wonderful show), dinner-it was formal night (and I did not get a family picture of us. I am really bad at that)
Day 3: At Sea. We had lots of pool time & went to a character dance party, saw Wishes (another awesome Disney show) and visited with a few characters
Anytime Annabelle found a port hole window she had to sit & have her picture made
Day 4: St Maarten- we did a tour under 2 flags. St Maarten is owned partly by the French & Dutch. We learned a lot about it’s history & even visited a true venetian carousel & ate some of the best ice cream I have ever tasted. I got Dulce de leche, Annabelle got strawberry & Tommy got Carousel. Annabelle tried a bite of mine & then decided she no longer like the strawberry- I ended up giving her mine 😦 and eating her strawberry. After our tour we got back on the boat, ate lunch & then Annabelle & I took a nap. Tommy got back off the boat to explore & ride jet ski’s.
We really needed our rest that day because it was PIRATE night! Pirate night was a blast. Parents, kids, characters & crew all dressed as pirates & it was so neat to see the whole boat participate-some a little more piratey than others but all in the spirit.
There was a pirate show on deck before dinner & after dinner by the pool deck Capt Jack Sparrow had a show-after his show they shot fireworks off the boat!
This is my favorite family picture from the whole trip:
These are the funniest pictures of the night. Tommy was still exploring St Maarten when Annabelle & I went out to meet the character in the costumes so we all got ready separately. Tommy & I never take mirror selfies but this night we did & when I looked at the pictures later that night I really LOLed (we had 4 different cameras)
I really need to work on my pirate scowl!
Day 5 : St Thomas- We fell in love with St Thomas! It was georgous & we did not want to leave. I (actually I think WE) have wondered if we could find jobs there & relocate 🙂 We walked off the boat & walked to the sky buckets & rode them to the top of Paradise Point. We stayed on top of Paradise Point for a long time & enjoyed the beauty. We also watched a bird show (birds on roller skates, playing basketball & a bird that could ride a bike on a tight rope) it was impressive. We meet the owners of the restaurant on top of Paradise Point. They were from Alabama & move there full time a few years ago.
Annabelle tried a virgin pina colada. She liked it!
After dinner we meet Aladdin, Jasmine, Gennie & Pinocchio!
Day 6: At Sea & our 10 year Anniversary!- we spent most of the day by the pool, found some port holes so we could take me pictures, acting silly & met Tinkerbell. I am so incredibly blessed to have a wonderful family & an amazing husband who takes care of us & spoils us & still likes to act silly. I love you Tommy more than I can ever express in words or actions to show you. I am so happy that by a chance blind date we met & fell in love. Looking forward to see what the next 50+ years have in store for us.
Day 7: Castaway Cay- We woke up bright & early because Tommy & I did the Castaway Cay 5k. We saw on a few blogs before we left that Disney offered a Run Disney 5K in the Bahamas & immediately we were in! They had a special activity for the kids whose parents were participating in the 5K. Annabelle had a blast & was covered in sand when we picked her up!
We spent the rest of the day on the beach & water slide. Tommy & Annabelle went snorkeling. I was hoping they would make it back in time for me to go to-but it was time to get back on the boat. I will do it next time!
We had an AMAZING time! I hope we can start saving and planning another one soon. Disney does a wonderful job with cruising and we really enjoyed everything about our trip. Until next time Disney Fantasy-See ya real soon!
